# Display Credit Balance (Credit Memo)

**View synced credit memos from your accounting system in the Partner Dashboard and Customer Portal**

This feature allows Alternative Payments to display credit memos that exist in your accounting system. Credit memos are synced automatically and shown as read-only records in both the Partner Dashboard and the Customer Portal.

This helps keep customer balances consistent between your accounting system and Alternative Payments.

### How it works

Credit memos are synced automatically from your accounting system using scheduled sync jobs or webhooks. No manual setup is required.

Once synced, credit memos are visible in the Partner Dashboard and can optionally be shown to end customers in the Customer Portal.

Credit balances are calculated based on the remaining amount on the credit memo in your accounting system.

### Supported integrations

Credit memo display is currently supported for the following integrations:

* QuickBooks Online (US and Canada)
* QuickBooks Desktop
* Sage Intacct
* Xero (US only)

### Show or hide credit balance in the Customer Portal

You can control whether customers are able to see their credit balance in the Customer Portal.

To change this setting:

1. Log in to your **Partner Dashboard**

2. Go to **Team Preferences** > **Preferences**

3. Locate the **Credit balance visibility** option

4. Optional: Select **Manage exceptions** to exclude specific customers from the credit balance setting.

5. Toggle the **Show balance to all customers** option

When disabled, credit memos will still appear in the Partner Dashboard but will not be visible to customers.

#### Note

Credit memo display is currently available as Phase 1 of this feature.\
