Alti is only useful if you can trust it with your account. Here is how Alti connects to your data, what keeps that data protected, and how those protections hold as Alti grows.

How Alti connects to your data

When it comes to your data, Alti works only with Alternative Payments' own systems. It does not connect to any outside service, plugin, or open API to read or act on your data, and there is no separate endpoint that exposes your information.

• To answer questions, Alti reads from a secured, read-only view of your account and nothing else.
• To take actions, Alti uses the very same secured Alternative Payments connection your dashboard already uses, acting on your behalf under your account's own permissions. It is not a special or separate access path built for the AI.

Your data stays yours

• Alti only ever works with your own account's data. Every lookup is automatically restricted to your account by the system itself, not just by a setting in the software, so it cannot be bypassed. Alti cannot see or reference any other partner's information.
• Answering questions is read-only. When Alti looks something up, it reads from a curated view of your business data (invoices, payments, customers, and the like), never your raw underlying systems, and it cannot change anything just by answering a question.
• Every question is checked before it runs. Before any lookup happens, it is automatically inspected to confirm it is a safe, read-only request. Anything that could change data or reach an outside system is blocked.
• Alti filters incoming data for hidden instructions. If a customer record or invoice field ever contained text designed to manipulate an AI, that content is detected and removed before Alti processes it.

You approve every change

• Nothing changes without your confirmation. Every action Alti takes, such as charging an invoice or sending an email, requires you to approve an on-screen confirmation first. See Taking Actions with Alti.
• Your access level is respected. Alti can only do what your dashboard role already allows. See Access Levels and What Each Role Can Do.
• Every action is recorded. Each confirmed action is logged with who approved it and what was done, so there is always a clear trail.

Built to stay safe as Alti grows

Alti will keep gaining new features and agents over time. Every new capability runs through the same protections above: it only ever works with your own account's data, reads stay read-only by default, any action is governed by your team's permissions and, for anything higher-impact, your confirmation, and everything is logged. New features do not get a shortcut around these controls.
