Tips, Limits and FAQ
Get the most out of Alti with a few simple tips, and find answers to the questions partners ask most.
Alti works best when you talk to it naturally. Here are some tips, the limits worth knowing, and answers to common questions.
Tips for great answers
Be specific. "Which invoices are more than 30 days overdue?" works better than "show me invoices."
Name the customer. Mention the customer by name when your question is about one account.
Use quick actions. For common questions, the one-click quick actions at the top of the chat are the fastest way to start.
Ask follow-ups. Alti remembers the current conversation, so you can refine an answer, for example "now just the ones based in Texas."
Limits worth knowing
Alti shows large results in batches. If there is more, it tells you how much and you can ask it to continue.
You can tag or untag up to 100 customers in a single request, and charge up to five invoices at once.
For very large email sends, Alti confirms the size of the group first and may ask you to narrow it.
A confirmation card stays open for about 90 seconds before it times out. Nothing happens if it does, so just ask again.
If you send a lot of messages in a short time, Alti may ask you to slow down for a moment.
Frequently asked questions
Is Alti available on my account?
Alti rolls out to eligible accounts, and what you can do depends on your access level. If you don't see Alti, or an action you expected, check with your account admin or our team.
Can Alti change something without asking me?
No. Alti answers questions freely, but any action that changes your account requires you to approve an on-screen confirmation first.
What if Alti gets something wrong?
Alti is a helper, not a replacement for your judgment. Always review the confirmation card before approving an action. If something looks off, decline it and rephrase your request, or ask Alti to open a support ticket.
Does charging an invoice mean I have been paid?
Not quite. When you charge an invoice, the payment is submitted for processing. Card payments are quick, and bank payments can take a few business days to complete, so a successful charge means the payment is on its way.
