Working with Agents and Context

Bring in a specialized agent with @, and point Alti at the exact invoice or customer you are asking about.

Most of the time, you talk to Alti directly. As your workspace grows, Alti can also work alongside specialized agents and focus on the exact records you care about. Here is how to make the most of both.

Talking to Alti, or to an agent

By default, you are talking to Alti. Some workspaces also have specialized agents built for a specific job. Agents are not always present, so when you want one, bring it in by typing @ and choosing it from the list. When no agent is involved, Alti handles your request itself.

New to an agent? The easiest way to start is to ask it what it does, then build the workflow together. You set the pace: keep it slow with a confirmation at every step, or let it move faster once you have seen its work and trust it.

Adding context with @

You can also type @ to point Alti at a specific record, such as an invoice or a customer, so your question is about exactly the right thing. For example, bring in an invoice with @ and ask, "why is this one still unpaid?"

Alti knows the page you are on

When you open Alti from a customer or invoice details page, it automatically knows which record you are viewing and adds it as context. That means you can ask about "this customer" or "this invoice" right away, without looking anything up. If you would rather ask about something else, you can remove that context.

Tip: Giving Alti the right context, whether an agent, a specific record, or the page you are on, helps it give you a precise answer instead of a general one.
